Job Description
The hiring establishment is a distinguished restaurant known for its dedication to culinary excellence and exceptional guest service. This restaurant prides itself on delivering a memorable dining experience through a diverse menu ranging from breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets to a la carte options and banquet events. With a focus on maintaining brand standards, industry best practices, and superior service quality, the restaurant operates within a vibrant environment that values creativity, organization, and teamwork.
The role available is for a Kitchen Supervisor who will lead and manage the entire kitchen staff while supporting the daily operations of the restaurant. This position plays a critical role in organizing and participating in culinary production for multiple service formats, including buffets, a la carte menus, banquets, and special contracted events. The Kitchen Supervisor will be responsible for creating and modifying menus in alignment with brand and industry standards and implementing cost-effective strategies across buffets, bar services, banquets, and room service.
In addition to supervising staff in food preparation, dishwashing, and service standards, this role requires a hands-on approach, ensuring the upkeep of a clean and safe kitchen environment conforming to local, state, and OSHA codes. The Kitchen Supervisor will also assist the front-of-house team in buffet upkeep and overall service delivery, ensuring guests receive a high-quality experience at all times.
The position demands evaluation and continuous improvement of food quality, introduction of new menu items to enhance guest options, and vigilant monitoring of kitchen hygiene. The Kitchen Supervisor leads in training, performance management, hiring, and disciplinary processes within the department. They will be responsible for writing weekly menus, forecasting business trends, adjusting schedules, managing inventory, processing payroll, and coordinating kitchen staff tasks to support the overall restaurant success.
This role requires leveraging technical skills, including proficiency with Delphi, Kronos, POS systems, and standard office software, for reporting and operational efficiency. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential to motivate and mentor the culinary team while upholding confidentiality and professionalism. The Kitchen Supervisor is expected to handle multiple priorities effectively, participate in relevant industry associations, and maintain relationships that benefit the restaurant's brand and service standards.
Physical stamina and safety awareness are crucial for this position, given the demands of extended working shifts, manual handling, and exposure to kitchen hazards like cuts, burns, and temperature extremes. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background and drug testing, ensuring that the candidate meets the establishment's high standards for integrity and reliability.
This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a reputable restaurant’s culinary leadership team, driving operational success and guest satisfaction through expert kitchen management and strategic innovation.
