The Executive Chef role at Aramark is a key management position responsible for overseeing the culinary operations and ensuring the highest standards of food preparation, presentation, and service. The Executive Chef supervises chef managers and hourly culinary staff, coordinating efforts to deliver culinary solutions that meet and exceed customer and client expectations. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of Aramark's food offerings by implementing proper culinary techniques and standards in alignment with company policies, including food safety and quality assurance. The Executive Chef is also responsible for managing food and labor costs, optimizing menu execution, and driving margin improvement by analyzing performance data, inventory trends, and operational metrics.
In this role, the Executive Chef leads and mentors the culinary team by fostering a shared understanding of goals, coaching employees on best practices, and recognizing outstanding performance. They are tasked with conducting team meetings and daily huddles to communicate priorities effectively and maintaining accurate staff records such as training logs, shift checklists, and performance data. The Executive Chef serves as a liaison with clients and guests, building strong rapport and ensuring a positive dining experience by engaging directly with customers and incorporating feedback into culinary offerings.
An important part of the role is to stay informed on regional culinary and ingredient trends to keep menus innovative and responsive to customer preferences. Additionally, the Executive Chef ensures operational compliance with Aramark's standards concerning waste management, supply chain protocols, equipment maintenance, and food safety regulations. Collaboration across departments is essential, as the Executive Chef must work closely with procurement teams to guarantee the use of authorized suppliers and oversee accurate food purchasing and requisition processes.

- Culinary degree or equivalent experience
- at least 4 years of culinary experience
- minimum 2 years in a management role preferred
- ability to multi-task

Job Duties
- Ensure culinary production appropriately connects to the Executional Framework
- ensure proper culinary standards and techniques are in place for food preparation including production, presentation, and service standards
- manage culinary team including chef managers and hourly staff to ensure quality in final food presentation
- train and manage culinary and kitchen employees in best practice food production techniques
- coach employees to create shared understanding of goals and achievement methods
- reward and recognize employees
- plan and execute team meetings and daily huddles
- maintain all staff records including training, checklists, and performance data
- develop and maintain effective client and guest rapport
- interact directly with guests daily
- aggregate and communicate regional culinary and ingredient trends
- deliver food and labor targets
- focus on margin improvement by understanding performance metrics, data, orders, and inventory trends
- ensure efficient execution and delivery of culinary products as per daily menu
- maintain integrity of the standard Aramark food offer
- comply with Operational Excellence fundamentals including waste, standard menus, recipes, and ingredient management
- oversee supply chain and procurement process ensuring authorized suppliers
- implement Food Framework knowledge
- assure accuracy of food consumption estimates for requisitions and purchases
- ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment
- comply with Aramark SAFE food and Quality Assurance standards as well as occupational and environmental safety policies
- comply with all applicable regulations related to safety, health, wage and hour.
