This position is accountable for the comprehensive success of daily kitchen operations within the hotel property. It seamlessly blends culinary expertise with solid leadership responsibilities, ensuring that all food-related functions achieve the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The successful candidate will personally engage in culinary tasks while managing and mentoring a dynamic kitchen team. Their leadership will be critical in maintaining exceptional guest satisfaction alongside strong financial performance. This includes supervising various kitchen sectors such as banquets, room service, restaurants, bar/lounge, and the employee cafeteria, along with support functions like the dish room and purchasing departments. A focal aspect of this job is advancing employee development through direct guidance and performance management, cultivating an environment of mutual respect, integrity, and collaboration.

The role requires supervising and coordinating food preparation activities, demonstrating new cooking techniques and equipment to staff, and ensuring compliance with sanitation and food safety standards. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 6 years experience in culinary or food and beverage management
  • OR 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • 4 years relevant experience
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations
  • Ability to manage kitchen operations
  • Financial acumen
  • Experience in staff training and development
  • Ability to handle guest relations and feedback
  • Willingness to work full time at the Austin, Texas location
