We are seeking an accomplished Executive Chef to lead our culinary program in Charleston, SC. This pivotal role requires a chef who combines creative vision with operational excellence, someone able to inspire the culinary team, elevate flavors, and maintain the highest standard of consistency and execution. The Executive Chef will provide leadership and direction to a passionate back-of-house team, overseeing daily kitchen operations while cultivating a culture where craftsmanship, collaboration, and innovation thrive. The role involves managing inventory, scheduling, and vendor relations, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards, and fostering a positive and professional environment. The Executive Chef is responsible for menu development, cost control, and maintaining plating and recipe standards to ensure an exceptional dining experience for every guest.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of professional kitchen experience with significant leadership responsibilities
  • Proven culinary expertise across multiple cuisines
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
  • Experience with menu development, cost control, and inventory management
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • Culinary degree or diploma preferred
  • Fine dining experience strongly preferred
  • Extensive wine knowledge a plus

Job Duties

  • Lead and oversee all back-of-house operations, working closely with the Sous Chef to ensure exceptional food quality and consistency
  • Develop daily specials and communicate specifications clearly to both BOH and FOH teams
  • Uphold all plating, recipe, and presentation standards
  • Manage inventory, ordering, receiving, and BOH scheduling
  • Demonstrate mastery of all line stations and expo
  • Maintain strict adherence to DHEC standards, including labeling, cleanliness, and proper food storage
  • Receive deliveries, address discrepancies, and communicate with vendors and the General Manager
  • Foster a positive, collaborative kitchen culture and participate in staff meetings
