The Culinary Team Leader role at Driftwood Hospitality Management is a pivotal position responsible for leading the culinary team to achieve outstanding service and operational excellence. This leadership role involves consistently executing high standards in food quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction while driving revenue growth through innovative, locally sourced, and seasonally inspired menus for multiple outlets, including banquets, room service, staff cafeterias, and stewarding departments. The position is dynamic and requires hands-on management of kitchen operations such as procurement, production, recipe development, cost controls, plating specifications, and safety compliance.
The Culinary Team Leader is expected to mentor and develop kitchen staff, optimizing productivity and profitability through strategic labor management and effective scheduling. They oversee multiple culinary areas, ensuring the hotel’s strategic plan is executed effectively across the entire kitchen department. Creativity and strong service skills are essential, as is staying updated on current culinary trends and innovations. This role also requires active participation in operational meetings and community engagement initiatives to promote the hotel's food and beverage offerings.
Maintaining food safety, hygiene, and equipment standards is critical, along with responding personally to food-related feedback to ensure continuous quality improvements. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- significant experience in culinary leadership roles
- knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
- ability to work flexible hours including shifts on weekends and holidays

Job Duties
- Lead culinary team to execute high-quality food preparation and presentation
- develop and implement creative menus for outlets and catering focusing on local and seasonal items
- oversee all kitchen operations including procurement, production, and sanitation
- develop recipes, cost controls, and plating specifications
- conduct line checks and ensure production schedules are met
- maintain staffing levels through recruiting, training, and performance management
- manage food inventory and control costs to optimize profitability
