Job Description
Wind Crest by Erickson Senior Living is a distinguished continuing care retirement community located on a sprawling 84-acre campus in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, just minutes away from Denver. As part of Erickson Senior Living, one of the nation’s most respected and expansive senior living and health care providers, Wind Crest is dedicated to promoting a vibrant lifestyle, financial stability, and focused health and well-being services. The community offers a welcoming and supportive environment where residents can enjoy enriched lives through engaging activities, high-quality care, and beautiful surroundings. This thriving campus represents a growing national network focused on excellence in senior living and is committed to maintaining top-tier standards in all areas, including dining experiences, health services, and recreational opportunities.
In the role of Executive Chef at Wind Crest, you will have a unique opportunity to join a team of award-winning chefs and dining professionals passionate about culinary excellence. This position calls for a hospitality-driven leader with a proven track record of success, ready to elevate Wind Crest’s innovative Signature Dining Programs. As Executive Chef, you will lead from the front, spearheading from-scratch cooking and delivering chef-inspired menus that reflect creativity, sophistication, and high execution standards. Your leadership will be instrumental in creating memorable dining experiences that not only satisfy but delight residents and guests alike.
This full-time position offers competitive compensation, ranging from $80,000 to $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience, along with eligibility for an annual bonus. The role also provides comprehensive benefits that support your well-being and growth, including medical, dental, and vision plans, wellness reimbursements, generous paid time off, and a 401(k) plan with a company match. Additionally, you will benefit from access to on-site medical centers, education assistance, and opportunities for professional development through a vast online course catalog.
Key responsibilities include managing all aspects of food purchasing, preparation, and presentation within budget to ensure efficient operations and superior quality. You will supervise and guide kitchen staff, oversee back-of-house systems, and manage core menus and recipe development. Maintaining impeccable kitchen and equipment sanitation standards is essential, including conducting regular internal audits and ensuring compliance with all federal and state food safety regulations such as the Health Department and HAACP standards. Collaboration with the General Manager to address and resolve food production or presentation challenges will be vital, along with upholding consistently high standards for food quality and presentation.
Wind Crest seeks an Executive Chef with at least three years of executive-level culinary leadership experience. Experience in fine dining is considered an asset, as is a solid understanding of ala carte service and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost control, and presentation. Proficiency with PC software and point-of-sale systems is also required to manage administrative and operational tasks effectively. This role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing, dynamic community where culinary innovation and exemplary service are highly valued. Join Wind Crest to lead culinary excellence that nourishes the body and spirit of seniors in a vibrant, supportive setting.
