We are currently seeking a dynamic Executive Chef to join the Morrison Healthcare team at their healthcare facility in Winter Garden, Florida. This role offers a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $80,000 annually and is an excellent opportunity for an energetic and entrepreneurial culinary professional passionate about making a meaningful impact in a healthcare setting. The Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations, ensuring exquisite meal preparation aligned with corporate programs and guidelines, and maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen environment for staff. This leadership role includes planning menus that accommodate regular and modified dietary needs, adhering strictly to standardized recipes and portion controls to guarantee consistency and quality.

The Executive Chef will play a crucial role in staff development by training kitchen personnel in food preparation techniques, safety protocols, equipment operation, and comprehensive sanitation standards. They will manage inventory and supply levels prudently, ensuring availability while controlling costs effectively. Responsibility for compliance with all health regulations and sanitation standards at the local, state, and federal levels will also fall under this role. Additionally, the Executive Chef will establish and maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules while actively participating in department meetings and professional development programs. This position demands a combination of hands-on culinary skills and proficient management capabilities to lead a high-volume, complex food service operation within the healthcare context.

Job Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience
  • three to five years progressive culinary management experience
  • hands-on culinary skills
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • experience with high volume food service operations
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • ServSafe certification preferred

Job Qualifications

  • A.S. degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum of three to five years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience
  • extensive catering experience considered a plus
  • experience in high volume, complex foodservice operations highly desirable
  • hands-on chef experience
  • comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Email, and the Internet
  • ServSafe certification highly desirable

Job Duties

  • Plan regular and modified menus according to established guidelines
  • follow standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation standards
  • complete and utilize daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
  • taste completed meals to ensure quality
  • train kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, operation of equipment, food safety and sanitation based on company and regulatory standards
  • establish and maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment, storage, and work areas
  • ensure kitchen staff follows and completes schedules as assigned
