The role of Executive Chef at Riderwood Village is a critical leadership position responsible for directing culinary operations across two distinctive dining venues: the Fireside Restaurant, an upscale fine dining establishment providing an elevated dinner experience, and the Potomac Café, a lively all-day café featuring deli selections and cook-to-order meals available throughout breakfast, lunch, and dinner hours. This position demands a strong hospitality leader with a track record of culinary excellence who can expertly drive Signature Dining Programs focused on from-scratch cooking, using high-quality ingredients and crafting creative, chef-inspired menus intended to elevate the overall guest dining experience. The Executive Chef's vision, leadership, and commitment to exceptional standards are essential for expanding and refining Riderwood’s innovative culinary offerings, ensuring that all dining experiences consistently meet superior quality and presentation standards. The role also involves oversight of food purchasing, preparation, and presentation processes within budget, supervision of kitchen staff and back-of-house systems, and strict adherence to sanitation and food safety regulations.
This full-time position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $90,000, complemented by eligibility for annual bonuses. Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years executive chef experience
- Fine dining experience a plus
- Knowledge of ala carte and catering trends with focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls and food presentation
- Good knowledge of PC software and POS systems (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)

Job Duties
- Ensure efficient and high-quality food purchasing, preparation, and presentation within budget
- Supervise all kitchen staff and oversee BOH systems, core menus, and recipe management
- Maintain kitchen and equipment sanitation
- conduct monthly internal sanitation audits
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state food safety regulations (Health Dept./HAACP)
- Partner with General Manager to address and resolve food production or presentation issues
- Maintain high standards for food quality and plate presentation
