The Executive Chef position at the Cleveland Marriott East represents an excellent opportunity for culinary leaders passionate about innovation, quality, and leadership. This key role involves full oversight of kitchen operations, encompassing restaurant, banquet, and catering services. The Executive Chef is entrusted with creating and executing innovative high-quality menus that align with Marriott brand standards and respond to local market trends. As a hands-on leader, the Executive Chef recruits, trains, develops, and mentors culinary team members to uphold and exceed operational standards. Job Requirements

  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive culinary leadership experience
  • At least 2 years as an Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef in hotel or full-service restaurant
  • Strong background in banquet and catering operations preferred
  • ServSafe certification preferred or required upon hire
  • Proven leadership and team development skills
  • Solid financial management skills including budgeting and cost control
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive culinary leadership experience with at least 2 years as an Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef in a hotel or full-service restaurant
  • Strong background in banquet and catering operations preferred
  • Proven ability to lead motivate and develop a high-performing team
  • Solid financial acumen including budgeting forecasting and cost control
  • Knowledge of food safety standards ServSafe certification preferred or required upon hire
  • Excellent organizational communication and problem-solving skills

Job Duties

  • Lead and manage all kitchen operations including restaurant banquet and catering services
