This approach fosters a creative and flexible environment where culinary staff have the freedom to experiment, take risks, and showcase their skills. The company is recognized for its rapid growth and breadth of accounts, providing exciting opportunities for career development and learning. Bon Appetit is also dedicated to staff growth, encouraging continuous education and the exploration of new culinary techniques and ideas.

The Executive Chef role at Bon Appetit is a pivotal position, offering the opportunity to lead all culinary operations across multiple dining venues and production areas at one of the world’s premier art museum campuses. The role involves overseeing a diverse portfolio that includes cafes, retail dining, catering and special events, bakery and pastry production, as well as back-of-house kitchen operations across two Getty locations. This leadership position requires a dynamic culinary expert who can blend hospitality, culture, and innovation to provide strategic culinary direction and ensure an exceptional guest experience. The Executive Chef is responsible for developing seasonal, innovative menus that align with guest expectations, museum programming, and culinary trends. Furthermore, they are tasked with mentoring culinary teams, promoting a culture of collaboration and operational excellence, and ensuring that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards of culinary quality, safety, and sanitation.

Financial stewardship is also a key responsibility, as the Executive Chef must manage food, labor, and operational costs while maintaining profitability goals. Additionally, the role includes overseeing purchasing processes, inventory management, and vendor relationships to support efficient operations. The Executive Chef partners with marketing and operational leadership to introduce new culinary concepts, promotions, and guest experiences, maintaining compliance with all health department regulations, HACCP standards, and company policies. This position offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $140,000 per year and is eligible for an employee referral bonus, reflecting the company’s commitment to both rewarding excellence and attracting top talent. Bon Appetit is a member of Compass Group USA, which provides a comprehensive benefits package and a supportive work environment that values diversity and equal opportunity. This role is ideal for a motivated culinary leader who thrives in a multifaceted, high-profile environment where creativity and high standards are paramount.
