The role available at this Four Seasons property is a senior culinary leadership position focused on creating and developing menus that reflect the hotel's vision and commitment to luxury and guest satisfaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading kitchen and banqueting operations, driving innovation to maximize revenue, and ensuring the highest standards of food preparation, presentation, and sanitation. This position requires a dynamic leader who can motivate and develop staff, manage labor and operating costs efficiently, and collaborate with various departments to deliver seamless and memorable dining experiences.
Specific responsibilities include overseeing menu alignment with Four Seasons New York Midtown's vision, creating innovative culinary solutions connected to current gastronomy trends, managing workforce and resources effectively, and acting as a key liaison in union-related matters. - College degree preferably specializing in hotel or restaurant management or culinary arts or equivalent experience
- Three to five years’ previous experience in a culinary or food and beverage line position
- One to two years in a supervisory or assistant manager position
- Ability to operate computer equipment and food and beverage computer systems
- Ability to operate culinary production equipment and tools
- Reading, writing and oral proficiency in English

Job Duties
- Create and develop all menus for the hotel aligned to Four Seasons New York Midtown Vision
- Ensure the preparation and presentation is consistent and supports the Purpose to enrich the lives of our guests
- Drive innovation through creative revenue generating solutions to maximize profit
- Coordinate collaborations on menus that connect to local gastronomy trends
- Select, lead, motivate, train, evaluate, coach, support and when required discipline all employees and managers in the Kitchen and Banqueting Department
- Forward plan and prioritize tasks to ensure workload is balanced and urgent situations are dealt with immediately
- Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory control
- Ensure sanitation standards comply with Four Seasons, local, state, and federal regulations
- Maintain control systems to assure quality and portion consistency
- Communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met
- Serve as the primary culinary authority responsible for compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Manage staffing models, scheduling, overtime, job assignments, and discipline in accordance with union rules
- Act as management’s culinary representative in union discussions, grievances, and labor-related matters in partnership with People and Culture
