The role demands a strong focus on menu development, inventory management, purchasing, controlling food costs, and staff development. The Executive Chef will lead multiple units, including retail, cafeteria, restaurant, and catering departments, while driving high culinary standards across all dining services. Additionally, the role involves supporting corporate social responsibility initiatives, promoting food seasonality, and advancing health and wellness through superior culinary practices. The Executive Chef will analyze operational performance to identify trends and implement actionable improvements, ensuring excellence in food quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction. Job Requirements
- Retail, cafeteria, restaurant, and catering experience required
- Minimum 5 years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
- Formal culinary degree or training preferred
- Ability to lead and manage multi-unit culinary operations
- Strong knowledge of sanitation, food cost controls, and quality assurance
- Proficiency in computer usage for operational tasks
- ServSafe certification
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, departments, customers, and associates
Job Qualifications
- Culinary degree preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Food Services Technology, Management, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
- Experience with retail, cafeteria, restaurant, and catering operations
- Strong leadership skills
- Knowledge of food and catering trends
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Effective communication skills
- ServSafe certification
Job Duties
- Develops high culinary standards for retail, board meals, dining and catering operations
- Trains, develops and provides inspirational leadership to local culinary team
- Manages multi-units including retail/cafeteria, restaurant, and catering departments
- Leads corporate social responsibility, food seasonality, health/wellness and culinary arts initiatives
- Analyzes ongoing performance and trends and leads operational improvements
- Explains daily menu items accurately to customers
- Oversees menu development, inventory, purchasing, food cost controls and staff management
