The Executive Chef role at SSA Group within Museum of Pop Culture is a full-time, exempt position offering competitive benefits and a $75 monthly cell phone stipend. The Executive Chef reports directly to the General Manager and plays a critical role in managing all culinary operations to maintain the highest standards of quality and guest satisfaction. This position demands leadership skills to hire, evaluate, and coach kitchen personnel, ensuring a team that is trained to uphold food safety and operational procedures. The Executive Chef designs menus influenced by market trends, customer preferences, and nutritional needs while controlling food costs and managing vendor relationships effectively. The role requires close collaboration with the client’s staff to sustain positive working relationships and compliance with all health, safety, and labor regulations.

Key responsibilities include overseeing food production, maintaining sanitation standards, facilitating equipment maintenance, and managing payroll within budget constraints. The Executive Chef also supports SSA's sustainability goals by incorporating sustainable resources into culinary selections and fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace culture. Practical experience with financial management, forecasting, and analysis is essential to optimize sales, inventory, and labor costs. Job Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including ability to articulate to clients general manager and HQ personnel

  • ability to remain flexible in fast paced environment

  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and move and handle boxes 35lbs as necessary
  • ability to work varied hours days including nights weekends and holidays as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Five years chef experience in high volume restaurant country club catering or cultural attraction venue
  • culinary arts degree
  • ServSafe certified
  • knowledge of HAACP
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Interview hire evaluate reward and progressively coach kitchen personnel
  • develop culinary training programs and serve as culinary resource

  • direct and coordinate production and dish room staff

  • supervise period end inventory
  • supervise and participate in food preparation and display

  • inspect food quality and cleanliness
  • place food orders and manage vendor communication
