Job Description

ISS Guckenheimer is a leading provider of food service solutions, operating with a commitment to excellence across its campuses and client locations. With a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction, ISS Guckenheimer delivers tailored culinary experiences to corporate dining facilities, ensuring every meal served meets rigorous standards of taste and presentation. As part of the ISS Group, Guckenheimer leverages global expertise and local insights to create diverse menus that are inspired by regional and seasonal influences. The company prioritizes sustainability, operational integrity, and employee development to build lasting relationships with its clients and their guests. With a reputation built on consistency and innovation, ISS Guckenheimer remains dedicated to enhancing the dining experience within various institutional settings, including educational campuses and corporate environments.

The role of Executive Chef at ISS Guckenheimer is a senior leadership position responsible for managing all kitchen operations at the Guckenheimer-operated campus cafes. This position is vital in upholding the company’s high-quality standards related to food preparation, safety, and hospitality service. The Executive Chef oversees back-of-house activities, including menu planning, inventory management, production accuracy, culinary training, and compliance with health and safety protocols. Collaborating closely with the General Manager, the Executive Chef plays a central role in achieving business financial targets by implementing culinary best practices, aligning with company policies, and ensuring operational efficiency.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Executive Chef must strategically manage multiple cafes on the campus, ensuring that all culinary offerings reflect client-approved programming that aligns with regional tastes and dietary preferences. Innovation in menu development is encouraged through the use of NetMenu technology, which tracks recipes, production, and purchasing needs to maintain optimal ingredient usage and food quality. The Executive Chef is also responsible for overseeing catering events, ensuring they meet high standards of service and compliance with contracted costing requirements. This position requires strong leadership abilities to guide kitchen teams in maintaining sanitary conditions, workplace safety, and compliance with HACCP guidelines. Additionally, the Executive Chef monitors performance through internal audits and proactively addresses any corrective actions to maintain a consistent level of excellence.

Serving as the primary decision-maker for back-of-house staffing, the Executive Chef leads recruitment, training, and performance evaluations of culinary staff. They ensure all team members are equipped with proper tools, knowledge, and ongoing development opportunities to meet ISS Guckenheimer’s standards. This includes enforcing food safety certifications such as SERV Safe, conducting personal development plans, and implementing corrective documentation where needed. Physically, the role demands the ability to handle kitchen equipment and work under pressure during busy service periods.

ISS Guckenheimer offers competitive annual compensation for this position, ranging from $90,000 to $95,000, with final figures based on experience and capabilities. Comprehensive benefits for full-time employees include medical, dental, life and disability insurance, and a leave program, fostering a supportive work environment. The company actively promotes diversity and inclusion, encouraging applications from candidates of all backgrounds. This role represents an exceptional opportunity for culinary leaders passionate about operational excellence, team development, and delivering outstanding food service in a dynamic campus setting.
