Job Requirements

  • Culinary degree from a central accredited culinary institute or equivalent
  • 6-8 years of proven culinary experience in a banquet hotel, resort, and/or fine dining establishment
  • Minimum 4 years in a leadership role such as Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef or similar
  • Understanding of advanced culinary arts, restaurant management and public health relations
  • Basic computer skills and MS Office skills
  • Advanced experience with managing payroll, CA payroll law, budgets, food/menu cost controls
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills
  • Service-driven mindset with polished presentation abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and backgrounds
  • High energy, enterprising spirit, and a passion for excellence
  • Demonstrated ability to improve operational and financial performance

Job Duties

  • Directing and overseeing culinary operations for all Napa Valley Wine Train experiences
  • Managing the culinary team and providing developmental training
  • Managing food purchasing and cost controls
  • Overseeing payroll and budgets in compliance with California payroll laws
  • Ensuring adherence to executive banquet culinary guidelines
  • Collaborating with diverse teams to maintain high service standards
  • Improving operational and financial performance
