The Executive Chef role at Ruth's Chris Steak House is a prestigious leadership position that demands both culinary expertise and strong management skills. Reporting to higher management, the Executive Chef is entrusted with overseeing the entire culinary team and ensuring that all food preparation and kitchen operations meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and sanitation, which are integral to delivering the restaurant's signature dining experience. This role is responsible for guiding the kitchen's daily activities, including scheduling, food production, food cost control, employee supervision, and training. The Executive Chef also manages vendor relationships and inventory to maintain profitability and efficiency. A key focus of the role is creating a positive and productive work environment that motivates team members while ensuring compliance with all food safety regulations.

In this position, the Executive Chef plays a critical role in event planning support and operational oversight for all food outlets and special occasions hosted by the restaurant. The Executive Chef must be proactive in recruiting skilled culinary personnel and continuously train the back-of-house team to maintain excellence. Job Duties

  • Proactively recruit hire and provide initial training as well as on-going training for all BOH personnel
  • perform line checks to ensure proper quality and quantity of food
  • inspect orders as they arrive to ensure completeness and quality
  • inspect all aspects of the kitchen operation and storage to ensure they meet Ruth's Chris high standards of excellence safety and sanitation
  • manage the financial results of the kitchen in order to drive profitability of the restaurant
  • purchase inventory according to sales volumes forecasted sales shelf life and PARs
  • proficient in all cooking positions and cooking skills
  • ensure proper scheduling and staffing of team to maintain the efficiency productivity and profitability of the operation
  • actively source talent to build a winning team
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings holidays and weekends
