With operations spanning multiple industries such as corporate dining, healthcare, education, and more, Sodexo is recognized for its dedication to excellence, sustainability, and social responsibility. The company's operations focus on delivering outstanding service experiences that meet the diverse needs of clients and customers. At the heart of Sodexo's success is its passionate workforce committed to fostering diversity, inclusion, and respect in every workplace. Sodexo's corporate culture encourages creativity, professional growth, and leadership opportunities to help employees realize their full potential within a vibrant, supportive environment.

The Executive Chef 1 (Catering) role at Sodexo Corporate Services based in Fannie Mae Midtown, Washington, DC, is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced culinary professional seeking a challenging and dynamic position within a fast-paced corporate setting. This position emphasizes leadership in catering operations, including managing high-volume catering events, conference services, and pantry support. The catering program spans a wide range of events, from daily breakfast and lunch meetings to large-scale conferences and exclusive executive events, providing a diverse and rewarding environment for culinary creativity and operational excellence.

As the dedicated culinary lead for catering services, the Executive Chef 1 will have full ownership of menu development, event execution, and team leadership. This role involves hands-on cooking and direct engagement with the culinary team, dedicating approximately 80% of the time to food production. The chef will work closely with the events and conference services teams to tailor menus that meet client expectations while ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation are met. Additionally, the role requires overseeing inventory management, ordering processes, and compliance with company policies and union guidelines.

Sodexo offers this role as a full-time position with a predominantly Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. schedule, with only occasional evenings or weekends. Compensation packages are competitive and based on experience, education, and demonstrated skills. Beyond salary, Sodexo provides comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision plans, wellness programs, 401(k) plans with matching contributions, paid time off, company holidays, and opportunities for career growth along with tuition reimbursement.

The ideal candidate is a passionate, organized, and creative chef who thrives in a collaborative, unionized environment. This individual is expected to have a strong background in catering and events, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a flair for developing innovative, presentation-driven menus. Embracing Sodexo’s values of diversity and inclusion, the candidate will contribute to enhancing the overall dining experience and supporting the company mission of creating better everyday experiences for both customers and employees. Working as part of a global organization committed to sustainability and community progress, this position offers meaningful work and professional fulfillment for culinary leaders ready to make their mark.
