Currently, Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef 1 to lead culinary operations at Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. This full-time leadership role is designed for a dynamic and hands-on culinary professional who excels in managing food service within a healthcare setting. The Executive Chef 1 will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of culinary operations, including food quality, presentation, menu execution, and compliance with rigorous healthcare and food safety standards.

In this pivotal role, the Executive Chef 1 will lead and inspire a team of kitchen staff through coaching, training, effective scheduling, and performance management, ensuring a motivated and proficient workforce dedicated to delivering an exceptional dining experience. Their duties include managing food production processes, monitoring inventory and cost control measures, and driving operational excellence that balances quality with financial performance. Job Requirements

  • Minimum education requirement - associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum management experience - 2 years
  • Minimum functional experience - 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven culinary leadership experience with the ability to inspire, mentor, and develop diverse teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of food production, menu planning, food safety standards, and healthcare or institutional dining operations
  • Financial acumen with experience managing food and labor costs, inventory controls, and operational budgets
  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable dining experiences that support patient well-being and satisfaction
