Located at the UH Cleveland Medical Center in Cleveland, OH, Sodexo is seeking a dedicated Executive Chef who will serve as a critical leader within its patient dining program. This role involves overseeing the culinary operations associated with patient meals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality food that meets stringent standards of both taste and safety. The Executive Chef will focus on achieving 100% tray accuracy, which is vital to patient satisfaction and operational excellence in a healthcare setting.

As the Executive Chef, you will implement and standardize culinary systems and procedures tailored for patient dining services at the healthcare facility. This includes managing food and physical safety protocols, providing annual training for hourly associates to maintain compliance and safety standards. You will collaborate closely with both internal stakeholders and external clients, coordinating catering services from inception to execution, ensuring that every detail is aligned with expectations.

This leadership position requires strong managerial capabilities, including menu planning that reflects current culinary trends and client preferences. You will be charged with procuring and purchasing high-quality ingredients and supplies to support your menus and programs. Job Requirements

  • Strong culinary background in a high-volume environment
  • 2 years of management experience
  • minimum 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, or mall food courts
  • proficiency in computer skills
  • ability to multitask
  • strong management and organizational skills
  • ability to lead, develop, and train a team
  • adaptability to changing work environments

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum 2 years of management experience
  • experience in menu planning and strong understanding of current culinary trends

Job Duties

  • Implement and standardize all culinary systems and procedures for patient dining

  • work directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution
  • provide culinary leadership within a small sized unit including menu planning, program execution and frontline staff management and training
