The Retail Executive Chef position at Sodexo offers a unique opportunity to lead the culinary vision across all retail food locations on a university campus. This role entails direct responsibility for maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety throughout all retail outlets. The Retail Executive Chef will also manage the e-commerce retail culinary program, innovating and driving excellence in culinary offerings. Another significant part of the role involves creating, managing, and executing weekly pop-up retail chef locations across campus, providing dynamic and engaging culinary experiences for students and staff. The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, creative, and innovative, with a strong ability to lead and inspire diverse culinary teams. Reporting directly to the Retail Director of Operations, this role requires strategic oversight of purchasing, menu compliance, inventory management, food cost analysis, and production forecasting.
In addition, the Retail Executive Chef will implement and ensure compliance with Sodexo’s culinary standards, including recipe adherence and food quality assurance. They will have extensive knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production, and management systems and will oversee the adoption and ongoing use of these systems campus-wide. The role also involves concept development, menu design, and launching new culinary concepts to continuously meet the evolving tastes and needs of the university community. With a focus on customer loyalty and brand image, the Retail Executive Chef will diagnose customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services. This position demands someone who thrives on a challenge and leverages innovative thinking to promote ingenuity and forward-thinking strategies among the culinary team.

Job Requirements
- Minimum education requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum management experience - 2 years
- Minimum functional experience - 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to enhance the university's dining experience
- Strong coaching and employee development skills
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis, and food production forecasting
- Ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented
- Have a working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production, and management systems
- Implement those systems and ensure ongoing compliance across campus
- Oversee concept development, menu design, and the implementation of new culinary concepts
- Drive innovation and excellence in the university's dining program to meet the diverse needs and tastes of the student body and staff
- Promote customer loyalty and brand image, diagnose customer needs, and recommend appropriate products or services
