Job Requirements

  • High school or equivalent education
  • minimum two years experience as an executive chef in a similar size operation
  • prior supervisory experience
  • culinary or apprenticeship program preferred
  • ability to obtain required licenses and permits
  • valid food handler’s card
  • ability to work long hours under pressure
  • physical ability to handle kitchen demands
  • good verbal and written communication skills
  • basic computer skills
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to lead and manage a large kitchen staff
  • ability to comply with Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa attendance policies

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • culinary or apprenticeship program preferred

  • knowledge of menu development, cost control, and marketing
  • good communication and leadership skills
  • ability to manage high-pressure environments
  • basic computer proficiency

  • supervise and manage kitchen staff
  • maintain high culinary standards and compliance with safety regulations
  • prepare and cook food items
