The role of the EVS Utility at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is essential for maintaining the cleanliness and overall aesthetic of the hotel property. This position involves performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties throughout the property under the supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor. The EVS Utility plays a key part in ensuring that all public and back-of-house areas are sanitary, well-maintained, and welcoming for both guests and staff. Responsibilities include floor care such as buffing, stripping, sealing, polishing, and carpet shampooing, as well as window washing, furniture polishing, and general upkeep of restrooms and common areas. The role demands proficiency in operating and maintaining cleaning equipment, necessitating machine certification.
Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols, including OSHA regulations, are critical for this position. The EVS Utility must be comfortable handling cleaning solutions responsibly and effectively. This job requires physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with varying noise levels and exposure to factors such as dust, cigarette smoke, and pet dander. Job Requirements
- Current legal and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
- ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
- prior janitorial experience preferred but not required
- minimum of 2 months on the job training or related experience
- ability to lift 50 pounds
- ability to push or pull up to 100 pounds
- ability to stand stretch bend kneel for prolonged periods
- ability to comply with safety and operational procedures
- able to work in varied noise levels and environmental conditions
- ability to handle cleaning supplies safely and maintain proper hygiene
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- machine certification required

Job Duties
- Operate and maintain all types of cleaning equipment, heavy cleaning such as floor buffing exterior or floor polishing window washing furniture or floor polishing and carpet shampooing, floor stripping sealing finishing and or polishing, maintain all marble and prepared cleaning solutions as necessary and follow safety procedures as prescribed by OSHA, vacuum sweep remove stains gum and debris while performing carpet maintenance, clean all glass and mirrors in assigned areas, clean all slot machine signage in assigned areas
