In this role, the Housekeeper will ensure timely, thorough cleaning by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting various surfaces, furniture, and equipment. Trash removal, cleaning of trash receptacles, and orderly arrangement of furniture and equipment are key responsibilities to maintain a safe and uncluttered environment conducive to patient care and staff workflow. The Housekeeper is expected to respond promptly and effectively to housekeeping requests, prioritize tasks based on patient care needs and bed availability, and communicate with supervisors to resolve any delays or challenges.
The role also encompasses maintenance of departmental supplies and equipment, including cleaning and reporting malfunctions, thus contributing to efficient operations. Flexibility is essential, as this job requires working various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays to provide continuous coverage and maintain standards 24/7.
Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and handling tasks, often requiring repetitive motions and good coordination. Employees in this position should be able to meet these physical requirements to successfully perform their duties while maintaining patient and staff safety.
Preferred candidates have at least a high school diploma or equivalent (GED), with previous experience in housekeeping or environmental services in a healthcare, hospitality, or similar setting being highly valued. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- At least one year experience preferred
- Ability to follow disinfecting procedures and use PPE

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Perform cleaning of medical units, patient rooms, public areas, offices, laboratories, and restrooms
- Maintain cleanliness in patient care areas including beds, waiting, and examination rooms
- Clean clinical and office areas by dusting furniture, fixtures, and equipment
- Remove trash from hospital and clean trash carts and cans
- Arrange furniture and equipment orderly after cleaning and report damages
- Prioritize tasks based on patient care and bed availability and respond to dispatched calls
- Follow disinfecting procedures using universal precautions and PPE
