We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Public Area Cleaner to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring all public, back-of-house, and restroom areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of cleaning duties, including vacuuming carpets, dust mopping marble floors, cleaning slot machines and countertops, mopping hard floors, emptying trash receptacles, and maintaining the cleanliness of restrooms by cleaning toilets, sinks, and fixtures as well as restocking supplies.

This position requires a strong commitment to safety, including adherence to all company safety guidelines, proper use of cleaning chemicals, and appropriate personal protective equipment. Employees must be vigilant in reporting hazards, equipment malfunctions, and maintenance needs promptly to ensure continuous operational excellence. Beyond physical cleaning tasks, this role involves assisting guests with directions and information about services available within the resort and casino, thereby enhancing overall guest satisfaction.

Candidates must have the ability to read and understand English instructions, caution signs, and safety notices to effectively comply with company policies and procedures. This role demands excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with both colleagues and guests. Flexibility in scheduling, including availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime, is essential to meet operational demands.

The Public Area Cleaner position requires physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to bend, reach, stand for prolonged periods, and lift items up to six feet high. The work environment is dynamic and may involve exposure to noise, smoke, varying temperatures, and crowded conditions. Job Requirements

Ability to understand written English to read caution signs, safety notices, chemicals and Supervisor's instructions
Must be able to understand and comply with all company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and guests
Must possess knowledge of use, cleaning, and breakdown of equipment
High school diploma or equivalent
Work may be performed in an area, which may be unusually noisy and crowded
Mobility to include bending, reaching, prolonged standing and walking, accessing and lifting items from floor level to six feet high
Normal sense of smell, touch, sound and vision range
Eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity
Work area is subject to variable temperatures
May be subject to smoking environment and moderate noise
Work schedule flexibility including days off, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties

Perform cleaning duties in all public areas, restrooms and back of the house areas which include, but are not limited to the vacuuming of the carpet, dust mopping the marble, cleaning slot machines, slot banks, carousel banks, countertops, mopping hard floors, emptying trash, cleaning ashtrays, pan sweeping the floor, cleaning offices, cleaning of toilets, sinks, countertops, fixtures, stalls, changing paper products, liquid hand soap, etc.
Adhere to all appropriate safety precautions including proper use of equipment and protective attire
Report accidents and/or safety problems to supervisor immediately
Notify guests and employees of safety hazards by placing proper signage in the appropriate areas
Ensure chemicals are properly dispensed and properly labeled and are transported safely ensuring employees safety
Ensure all equipment being used is functioning properly and kept clean
Promptly report any needed repairs including equipment, carpet, tile, wallpaper, wood columns, chandeliers, sink, toilets, urinals, faucets, etc.
Maintain a high standard of customer service
Assist guests with directions and services available within the Resort/Casino
