Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years' work related experience
  • Minimum 3 years' leadership experience in hospital EVS operations management
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to work some weekends
  • Ability to manage budgets and vendor relationships
  • Strong computer and communication skills

  • Minimum 3 years leadership experience in hospital EVS management
  • Proficiency with computer operations and database systems
  • Experience in staff development and performance management
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards in healthcare
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Preferred bilingual abilities

Job Duties

  • Provide leadership and management oversight for environmental services within the facility
  • Communicate regularly with team members through meetings and informal interactions
  • Manage scheduling, staffing coverage, and cross-training for the department
  • Inspect environmental cleanliness and ensure customer satisfaction through daily rounds
  • Oversaw departmental budget for capital, supplies, and operations
  • Ensure medical waste is handled and disposed of according to federal and state regulations
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors and manage emergency on-call services
  • Conduct staff hiring, development, disciplinary actions, and performance monitoring
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives including training, auditing, and inspections
  • Serve as subject matter expert for environmental services, regulatory compliance, and training
  • Use computer programs effectively for reporting, communication, and data management
  • Promote a culture of safety, hand hygiene, patient experience, engagement, and retention
