Banner Health is currently seeking highly motivated and hardworking individuals to join their Environmental Services (EVS) department as Housekeeping EVS Associates. This full-time position offers a day shift from 11AM to 7:30PM, with weekend and holiday rotations required. Employees receive a flat rate weekend shift differential and an 18% night shift differential when applicable, as well as a $1000 hire-on incentive pending eligibility and recruitment criteria. This role is critical in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic appeal of the facility to ensure a positive environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
The Housekeeping EVS Associate plays an essential role in hospital operations by performing assigned cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing according to departmental policies and procedures. The associate is responsible for cleaning patient rooms and other assigned areas within the hospital, utilizing various cleaning chemicals safely to sanitize and maintain the environment. This job requires physical stamina, as it involves extended periods of walking, pushing cleaning carts, and working in potentially challenging areas including specialty units like Infectious Disease or even the morgue. Strong communication skills are vital since the associate will regularly interact with patients, staff, and visitors to respond to questions and service requests.
While prior hospital or institutional cleaning experience is preferred, it is not mandatory. Training and ongoing guidance will be provided to help associates become proficient in their duties. Safety protocols, including annual flu vaccinations and background checks, are strictly enforced to meet Banner Health’s high standards. Successful candidates will have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, interpret verbal and written instructions, and follow safety guidelines related to chemical handling. Overall, this role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to contribute to healthcare by maintaining a clean and safe environment in a fast-paced, respected, and supportive workplace.
