Job Description

St. Charles Health System is a respected healthcare institution dedicated to creating America’s healthiest community through compassion, high standards of care, and teamwork. It operates a comprehensive medical facility aimed at providing superior health services and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, families, visitors, and staff alike. Known for its commitment to quality and safety, St. Charles Health System integrates modern healthcare practices with a strong sense of responsibility towards community welfare and environmental health. The establishment values accountability and teamwork, fostering an atmosphere where every employee contributes to improving the overall patient experience and healthcare outcomes.

The Environmental Services Attendant position at St. Charles Health System plays a vital role in sustaining the hospital’s cleanliness and sanitation standards. This full-time role, primarily during night shifts, offers a competitive pay range between $20.51 and $26.25 per hour. The attendant ensures the assigned interior areas are meticulously cleaned and sanitized, with a focus on patient and caregiver safety. This role supports the hospital’s mission of delivering better health, better care, and better value through its contribution to a hygienic and comfortable environment.

The individual in this role conducts thorough inspections of various hospital areas to identify and correct cleanliness issues, follows stringent cleaning protocols established by the Environmental Services department, and uses the appropriate cleaning agents and equipment. Responsibilities include cleaning bathrooms, floors, furniture, walls, and other fixtures, removing waste including biomedical and infectious materials, and restocking supplies essential for maintaining a sterile environment. The position requires excellent attention to detail, adherence to safety regulations, and cooperation with hospital staff to maintain a positive and professional atmosphere.
