Job Description
Banner Health is a leading non-profit health system headquartered in Arizona, committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care to communities they serve. With a reputation for excellence, Banner Health focuses on combining innovation with personal attention to improve patient experiences and outcomes. As a certified Great Place To Work, Banner Health prioritizes the wellbeing of both its patients and team members, fostering a culture of respect, integrity, and continuous improvement. The organization offers a dynamic work environment where employees can grow professionally and contribute meaningfully to healthcare advancements. Banner Health encompasses a broad range of healthcare services across hospitals, outpatient centers, and specialized clinics, making it one of the largest health systems in the southwestern United States.
The Housekeeping/Environmental Services (EVS) Associate role at Banner Health is fundamental to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the hospital facilities. Situated in Mesa, Arizona, this position works primarily the evening shift from 3:30 PM to 12 AM with a 36-hour workweek. The EVS team supports clinical and non-clinical operations by ensuring all areas are sanitized, well-maintained, and compliant with infection control standards. Housekeeping staff at Banner Health perform duties including cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining hospital areas that may include specialized spaces such as morgues or areas that require handling of biohazardous materials like blood or bodily fluids. Though experience in a hospital or institutional environment is not mandatory, candidates must be hardworking and dedicated to team success and patient care excellence.
This position involves considerable physical activity, including walking throughout the facility, maneuvering cleaning carts, and using chemical cleaning agents. The Housekeeping/EVS Associate must also demonstrate strong teamwork abilities, working collaboratively with medical and support staff to uphold hospital cleanliness standards which directly impact patient safety and satisfaction. The role demands flexibility and openness to new challenges within the fast-paced hospital environment. Banner Health requires all employees to pass background checks and drug screens post-offer, complete timely onboarding steps, and participate in annual flu vaccinations to maintain workplace safety. Candidates will find opportunity for growth and leadership as the role includes aspects of supervising Environmental Services tasks and supporting quality control and patient throughput initiatives. This position offers a meaningful career path within a team that values its members and strives to make a positive difference in healthcare delivery.
