The Overnight Housekeeping position at Intermountain Health Park City Hospital is a full-time role requiring 40 hours of work per week. This position is critical in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and attractiveness of the hospital facilities in compliance with hospital policies and Joint Commission standards. Employees in this role work primarily overnight shifts, including two 12-hour shifts on weekends and two 8-hour shifts during the weekdays, typically from 11:00 pm to 11:00 am or 11:00 pm to 7:30 am. The pay rate varies based on experience and ranges from $17.25 to $22.43 per hour. The job entails performing general housekeeping duties such as cleaning and disinfecting assigned areas using department-approved procedures and chemicals in line with OSHA and Joint Commission standards. Employees handle the disposal of infectious waste and trash safely, manage emergency spills, and adhere strictly to infection prevention protocols including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The role demands attention to detail, the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and a strong commitment to maintaining a sanitary environment critical for patient health and safety. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and move heavy items, frequent bending and kneeling, and manual dexterity to manipulate cleaning equipment and supplies efficiently.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one or more year of experience in housekeeping, custodial, or janitorial work preferred
- ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and some holidays
- ability to follow safety and infection control procedures
- manual dexterity and physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks
- effective communication skills to understand and follow instructions
- commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards
Job Qualifications
- One or more year of experience as a custodian, janitor or housekeeper (preferred)
- demonstrated communication skills to include differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals as well as following written and/or verbal directions
- ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department
- demonstrated professional housekeeping experience (preferred)
Job Duties
- Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures
- use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards
- understand procedures and properly dispose of infectious waste and trash
- handle and clean up emergency spills per department guidelines, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards
- follow all infection prevention practices including proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, and appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- maintain work and storage areas following established policies and procedures to ensure safety
