Within Aramark Healthcare, the Environmental Services (EVS) Director position at IU Health West Hospital in Avon, IN is a vital management role. The EVS Director is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive environmental services strategies that meet the specific needs of the hospital. This role oversees the cleanliness and sanitation of the hospital environment, including floor care, patient room cleaning, trash removal, biohazardous waste handling, and operating room cleaning. By recruiting, training, mentoring, and coaching team members, the director fosters an environment of high performance and continuous improvement. The role involves applying the GROW Coaching model to drive employee development and ensure adherence to safety and sanitation standards. Establishing and nurturing client relationships is another pivotal aspect, requiring the EVS Director to maintain effective communication with hospital management and to tailor cleaning programs that satisfy client specifications and regulatory standards.
Financial stewardship is a core responsibility of the role, including managing budgets related to labor, supplies, and equipment, as well as overseeing profit and loss statements. The director uses data-driven knowledge of performance metrics, inventory, and operational costs to optimize productivity, enforce cost controls, and maximize profitability while ensuring high quality service operations. The role also demands strict compliance with operational excellence standards, emphasizing the importance of labor and facility initiatives in maintaining efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Beyond operational duties, Aramark encourages EVS Directors to actively contribute to the development of new skills and adapt to changing job responsibilities to meet company and client expectations. The role requires flexibility, proactive problem-solving, and a passion for service excellence. Candidates are expected to have a blend of relevant healthcare experience, management expertise, and a commitment to fostering a culture of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
