The Environmental Services (EVS) department at Banner University Medical Center - South Tucson functions in a fast-paced, high-performance environment focused on maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming atmosphere. The position being offered is a full-time Housekeeping/Environmental Services Associate role working primarily during the day shift (7:00 am - 3:30 pm) at this Tucson location. This role requires weekend and holiday rotations, with additional shift differentials applied during weekends and nights. A $1000 sign-on bonus is offered, emphasizing the value of this role to the medical center. New hires participate in a mandatory two-week comprehensive training program covering day and night shift schedules. As an Environmental Services Associate, key responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms and various other facility areas to the highest standards. Responsibilities entail performing diverse tasks such as dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing according to departmental policies. The role also involves sterilizing procedural rooms, including terminal cleaning of operating rooms, thus playing a key role in preventing hospital-acquired infections. Associates manage waste removal, including medical and sharps waste, restock supplies, and maintain departmental equipment while reporting necessary repairs. The position requires excellent communication skills to respond promptly and professionally to requests from patients, staff, and visitors, fostering a supportive and respectful environment.
