Job Description

Carondelet St. Marys Hospital is a respected healthcare institution dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care within a supportive and collaborative environment. Founded in 1880, it holds the distinction of being Southern Arizona's longest continually operating hospital and ranks among the top medical centers in Tucson and the surrounding region. The hospital is renowned for its specialized services, including the Carondelet Heart & Vascular Institute, which offers minimally invasive heart and vascular surgery, as well as advanced stroke care. In addition to cardiovascular specialties, the hospital provides comprehensive emergency care, wound care, and bariatric surgery, making it a critical healthcare destination for the community it serves.

At Carondelet St. Marys Hospital, patient-centered care is the cornerstone of the institution’s mission. The hospital emphasizes personalized and compassionate treatment aimed at improving patient outcomes and overall health. The institution recognizes that achieving these goals requires a committed team of healthcare and support professionals who work collaboratively to maintain the highest standards and foster a healing environment. This comes with a combination of state-of-the-art technology and a culture that values continuous improvement and professional growth.

The role available is within the Environmental Services department, which plays an essential part in maintaining the hospital’s sanitation, safety, and aesthetic appeal. This position is critical to creating a clean, safe, and welcoming atmosphere for patients, visitors, and staff alike. The person in this role will be responsible for carrying out thorough cleaning duties throughout the facility, ensuring compliance with infection control standards and manufacturer’s specifications for cleaning agents. This involves daily tasks such as sanitizing all surfaces, managing infectious and non-infectious waste, performing detail and discharge cleaning, dusting, mopping, and ensuring restrooms and patient areas are immaculate.

Environmental services team members must maintain accurate records like discharge logs, linen weight, isolation weight, and supply sign-outs. Safeguarding cleaning supplies and chemicals in patient areas also forms part of the job. The role demands flexibility in handling multiple cleaning priorities and a strong customer service orientation because employees often interact with patients and hospital staff. This position offers the chance to be part of a dedicated team that upholds the hospital's reputation for cleanliness and patient safety while contributing to the overall patient experience.

Carondelet St. Marys Hospital provides an attractive employment package that includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match, paid time off, and various programs supporting career development and continuing education. Additional benefits such as health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts for healthcare and dependent care, employee assistance programs, and discount programs help improve quality of life. Voluntary benefits including pet insurance, legal insurance, accident and critical illness coverage, long-term care, elder and childcare support, as well as auto and home insurance, are also offered. The hospital is committed to equal employment opportunity and will provide reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
