Banner Baywood Medical Center is a prominent healthcare facility located in Mesa, Arizona, dedicated to serving the dynamic and growing communities of the Phoenix metropolitan area. This hospital features 342 beds and offers comprehensive acute care and outpatient services, including specialties in cancer treatment, stroke care, women's health, rehabilitation, emergency medicine, and surgery. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work full-time 40 hours per week including day shifts from 7am to 3:30pm
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required including weekend rotations
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff and visitors
- Must read and understand safety data sheets and fill out chemical identification stickers
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card for specified clinical areas at time of hire and maintained thereafter
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Effective communication skills by phone and verbally
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for cleaning chemical use
- Previous related experience with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques preferred
- Additional related education or experience preferred
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required for certain behavioral and clinical settings
Job Duties
- Perform a variety of assigned cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policies and procedures
- Empty hampers and transport soiled linen
- Empty trash containers and remove all trash including medical waste containers and sharps
- Inventory, restock and replenish supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap in assigned areas
- Maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment and notify appropriate personnel for repairs
- Perform special projects such as window washing, wall washing, or removing heavily soiled items
- Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff and visitors
- Operate under regular supervision with responsibility limited to assigned facility or area
