The Environmental Services Worker at Abrazo Arrowhead Campus plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the hospital’s medical and patient care areas. This position is responsible for adhering to prescribed cleaning methods, distributing linens, removing trash and soiled linens with equipment such as compactors and cardboard balers, and assisting with moving furniture and heavy equipment as directed. This role demands diligence in maintaining cleanliness standards to uphold patient safety and comfort, while also reporting any equipment or facility issues that require maintenance or repair.
Environmental Services Workers are expected to perform their duties in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment and to meet deadlines efficiently. They are also expected to follow departmental and hospital policies, learn additional functions to promote departmental flexibility, and contribute to a team-oriented workplace culture. This position requires strong attention to detail, responsibility for the appearance and cleanliness of assigned areas, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
This is a full-time role that presents an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in environmental services, hospitality, or healthcare cleaning experience, even if education levels vary. Job Requirements
- GED with ability to read, write and understand the English language
- 2 years work in environmental services in lieu of education
- Prior cleaning experience
- 2 years of experience in hospitality or healthcare setting
- May substitute domestic experience

Job Duties
- Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas using prescribed methods
- Maintains assigned equipment for cleanliness and have repairs made when necessary
- Observes and reports the need for repairs to equipment, furniture, building and fixtures
- Accounts for cleanliness and neat appearance of assigned areas
- Follows department and hospital policies and procedures
- Learns other functions or positions to ensure satisfactory operation of the department/work unit or to permit flexible staffing assignments
- Demonstrates ability to work in a fast-paced and customer service-oriented environment and to perform duties and meet deadlines in a timely manner
- Other related tasks or responsibilities assigned
