The Environmental Services (EVS), Patient Transportation, and Linen Services Educator role is pivotal within Baptist Health's commitment to maintaining quality, safety, and a healing environment across its hospitals. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining a thorough education, training, and compliance program tailored to Environmental Services staff, as well as Patient Transportation and Linen Services employees. The goal is ensuring all team members are expertly trained on safety protocols, infection prevention standards, proper use of equipment, environmental cleaning benchmarks, patient experience principles, and regulatory compliance requirements.

This role also plays a critical part in workforce development, particularly focusing on employee engagement, career pathway advancement, and retention strategies, with special attention given to entry-level and multilingual staff populations. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Environmental Services, Patient Transportation, or Linen Services within a healthcare setting
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, education, environmental services or related field
  • Certification as a Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) or Trainer (CHESP)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Proven ability to conduct training and lead staff
  • Strong knowledge of infection prevention and regulatory compliance
  • Effective communication skills with diverse, multilingual employee groups
  • Ability to work effectively in environments involving patient care

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, education, environmental services or related field
  • Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) or Trainer (CHESP) certification
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Experience in Environmental Services, Transportation, and Linen Services in a healthcare setting
  • Strong knowledge of infection prevention standards, cleaning and disinfection protocols, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience conducting training or leading staff
  • Strong communication skills including ability to teach diverse and multilingual workforces
  • Ability to work effectively in patient-care environments

Job Duties

  • Design and implement comprehensive education and training programs for Environmental Services, Patient Transportation, and Linen Services staff
  • Ensure compliance with safety, infection prevention, equipment use, environmental cleaning standards, patient experience, and regulatory requirements
  • Lead initiatives to promote employee engagement, career pathway development, and workforce retention especially for entry-level and multilingual staff
  • Conduct training sessions addressing diverse and multilingual workforces with effective communication skills
  • Support quality, safety, and regulatory readiness across the hospital environment
  • Collaborate with departmental leaders to assess training needs and update curriculum accordingly
  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness and staff competencies to ensure continual improvement
