The role of Environmental Services (EVS) Ambassador Lead at Loma Linda Medical Center is integral to maintaining the hospital's cleanliness standards and operational efficiency. The EVS Ambassador Lead assists with overseeing the daily operations of housekeeping staff, ensuring that all assigned areas meet the facility's hygiene and cleanliness expectations. This leadership position involves managing workflow, assigning tasks, and training new employees to align their performance with the hospital's stringent standards. The EVS Ambassador Lead is also responsible for quality assurance by conducting routine inspections and monitoring the completion of cleaning requests through the Loma Linda Electronic Access Portal (LLEAP). Additionally, responding promptly to requests from various hospital departments by dispatching appropriate personnel falls under this role's duties. This position demands a hands-on approach, attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently while coordinating a team. The Environmental Services Ambassador Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient hospital environment essential for patient care and overall hospital operations.

Job Requirements

minimum two years of housekeeping experience in a hospital environment
preferred minimum six months supervisory or lead experience
able to read, write, and speak English
able to read and follow written and oral instructions
able to distinguish colors and hear sufficiently to safely complete job duties
able to work independently
knowledge of proper use of housekeeping equipment
knowledge of regulatory agencies such as The Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA preferred
able to properly use carpet or furniture extractor, floor buffer, vacuums, buckets, wringers, dust mops, dusting equipment, step ladders, cleaning carts, and spray bottles

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

assist with the daily operations of housekeeping staff
respond to telephone and written requests from hospital departments by dispatching appropriate personnel
train new employees
assign workflow to ensure staff meet performance expectations
conduct quality assurance checks
monitor Loma Linda Electronic Access Portal to ensure timely handling of cleaning requests
perform other duties as needed
