Job Description
The hiring establishment is a reputable medical center dedicated to providing superior healthcare services in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. As an institution committed to excellence, the medical center values the importance of maintaining a pristine setting for patients, staff, and visitors alike. With a team-oriented culture and a focus on patient safety and comfort, the facility integrates efficient environmental services as a crucial component of its operational framework. The medical center prides itself on delivering compassionate care and achieving high standards in cleanliness and sanitation throughout the premises to ensure a healing environment conducive to the well-being of every individual who comes through its doors.
The role of the Environment Services (EVS) Ambassador is vital within this medical center, designed to uphold and enhance the cleanliness and sanitation of the facility's patient care and non-patient care areas. This position is full-time with varied shifts, highlighting the need for flexibility and dedication. The EVS Ambassador will primarily be responsible for preparing conference rooms, transporting beds to storage, and performing routine cleaning and sanitizing tasks in entrances, lobbies, stairwells, elevators, restrooms, and various other non-patient care locations. The role extends to cleaning and sanitizing patient rooms meticulously, ensuring the highest levels of hygiene and comfort for patients.
Additionally, the EVS Ambassador will manage linen logistics by unpacking, stocking, covering, and delivering linen carts, folding and organizing scrubs in dispensing machines, and maintaining shelving storage areas effectively. Distribution and tracking of clean linens to various user departments, along with monitoring stock levels within nursing units, are key responsibilities that support the seamless operation of clinical departments. This position demands attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to follow strict sanitation protocols integral to infection control and patient safety.
The ideal candidate will possess at least one year of housekeeping experience, particularly in healthcare or a similar setting, alongside the ability to safely operate standard cleaning and transport equipment. Proficiency in English is essential for reading, writing, and communication to follow both written and oral instructions accurately. Physical ability to distinguish colors and sufficient hearing acuity are necessary to complete the job duties safely and effectively. The role emphasizes working independently while being a team player within the environmental services department to sustain the highest standards of cleanliness. No licensures or certifications are required, allowing candidates with practical experience to apply and grow their careers in a supportive healthcare environment.
