The Columbus Botanical Garden is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Events Support Associate to join its dynamic events team. This role is a part-time position, requiring approximately 15 to 20 hours per week, with hours varying based on the Garden’s event schedule. Reporting directly to the Events Coordinators, the Events Support Associate plays a key role in helping to execute events that range from private celebrations such as weddings and corporate functions to public programs aimed at engaging the local community. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event operations and planning within a vibrant and supportive environment.
The primary responsibility of the Events Support Associate is to assist with the setup and breakdown of event spaces, following detailed schematics created by the events team. This includes arranging tables, chairs, linens, décor, and other event elements to ensure the space reflects the desired ambiance and functionality required for each event. Beyond setup, the role involves active presence during events to support event logistics, cater to guest needs, and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the program, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
Additional duties include maintaining cleanliness and organization of the event spaces before, during, and after events, overseeing the inventory management of event supplies and equipment, and collaborating with vendors and internal staff to streamline event execution. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in event support or customer service preferred
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds
- Able to work evenings and weekends
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Job Duties
- Assist Events Coordinators with the setup and breakdown of all events
- Execute event setups according to event team schematics including tables and chairs, linens, décor and event elements
- Support the on-site execution of private rentals and public programs
- Be present during events to assist with logistics, guest needs, and real-time problem solving
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of event spaces before, during, and after events
- Assist with inventory management and organization of event supplies and equipment
- Provide excellent customer service to guests, vendors, and partners
- Support coordination with vendors and internal staff as needed
