Job Description
UC San Diego Temporary Employment Services is actively seeking dedicated and detail-oriented individuals to join their team as Events Specialists. Job Requirements
- basic experience in event planning and coordination
- ability to work full-time hours Monday to Friday with occasional evenings and weekends
- must pass background check
- must have access to reliable transportation
- ability to work on-site at La Jolla East Campus
- ability to assist with audiovisual setup and virtual meeting platforms
- strong organizational and communication skills
Job Qualifications
- basic experience in planning, designing, marketing, and organizing professional events
- experience setting up and cleaning up events
- good organizational skills to manage calendars and schedules
- ability to provide customer service to clients, customers, and coworkers
- experience using database programs such as Excel for data entry and tracking
- knowledge of concepts and principles of effective event planning and public relations
- must have access to transportation to attend events and pick up supplies
Job Duties
- assist with planning and execution of events such as symposiums, conferences, workshops, and advisory board meetings
- coordinate with campus partners and vendors including facilities, catering, media services, and transportation
- provide on-site event support and setup according to specifications
- assist with audiovisual and virtual meeting needs including Zoom
- track and report event data such as attendance, costs, and participant feedback
- support logistical coordination for both small and large-scale events
- help maintain event schedules and assist with budget monitoring
