Established in 1937, Sheraton has developed a reputation as 'The World’s Gathering Place' by providing exceptional hospitality and thoughtful service. As part of Marriott International's diverse portfolio, Sheraton proudly embraces a culture that values and celebrates the unique backgrounds, talents, and experiences of its associates. The company is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and welcoming work environment where every team member is empowered to contribute their best work while enjoying numerous benefits and opportunities for growth and development.

The available position is for a full-time Group Coordinator/Host(ess) located at 301 E North Water St, Chicago, Illinois. This non-management role offers a competitive pay rate of $26.96 per hour. The Group Coordinator/Host(ess) plays a pivotal role in ensuring that banquet events run smoothly and guests receive exceptional service. Responsibilities include meeting with the group coordinator or host(ess) prior to events to make introductions and confirm that all arrangements are agreeable. The Group Coordinator/Host(ess) will report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe work conditions to supervisors and complete required safety training and certifications. Maintaining a clean and professional personal appearance while respecting the confidentiality of proprietary information is essential. The ideal candidate will welcome and acknowledge all guests with genuine appreciation, anticipate and address their service needs, and communicate clearly and professionally with guests and colleagues, including proper telephone etiquette.

This position demands positive teamwork skills aimed at achieving common goals, close attention to quality standards, and the ability to read and verify detailed information, including small print. Physical requirements include standing, sitting, or walking throughout the work shift; moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance; navigating narrow or elevated spaces; and maneuvering over uneven or slippery surfaces such as stairs and ramps. Candidates must be capable of reaching overhead and below the knees, involving actions like bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Sheraton offers a dynamic work environment where employees are integral to creating engaging guest experiences across all functions of the hotel. The company strongly encourages team players excited to contribute to a meaningful guest service mission to apply. Sheraton's commitment to equal opportunity employment ensures a diverse workforce free from discrimination based on any protected class or status.

Joining Sheraton Hotels & Resorts means becoming part of a global family that supports your personal and professional growth, provides comprehensive benefits, and invites you to belong to a community that values your individuality and strengths.
