Job Description
Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington & Northern Idaho (GSEWNI) is a prominent non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young girls through leadership development, community engagement, and personal growth. Serving a vast geographical region encompassing 29 counties across 67,000 square miles in central and eastern Washington and northern Idaho, GSEWNI is headquartered in Spokane, Washington. With a mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place, the council serves approximately 4,000 girls from kindergarten through 12th grade. This impact is made possible through the support of 2,000 committed adult volunteers who assist in delivering diverse programs and activities tailored to the needs and interests of girls in the region.
The Girl Scouts organization is widely recognized as the preeminent leadership development entity for girls, focusing on healthy development and empowering girls to become future leaders. GSEWNI continues this legacy by actively working with girls and women to transform leadership landscapes for the next generation. The council brings together a rich community of volunteers, donors, and supporters all dedicated to fostering environments where girls can thrive, learn, and lead.
The position of External Recruiter within GSEWNI offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the mission of empowering youth through strategic events that raise funds and awareness for the organization. This full-time role is available in Yakima, TriCities, or Spokane, Washington, with a competitive hourly wage of $24.00 to $26.00 and full benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and paid time off.
As an External Recruiter, the incumbent will be charged with the critical responsibility of managing and executing high-profile fundraising and program events designed to support the Girl Scouts mission. These events include two signature fundraising efforts: an elegant gala and a unique weekend-long "glamping" event, both intended to attract donors, participants, and community attention. Additionally, the role involves organizing a day-long mini convention focused on engaging girls directly in leadership activities.
The recruiter will collaborate closely with various stakeholders including sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and internal teams such as the Director of Marketing and Director of Philanthropy. Effective communication, meticulous event logistics management, and participant engagement through quality service are key success factors in this role. The recruiter is also tasked with innovating and developing further program and fundraising events that expand the organization’s reach and impact.
Specific duties include managing event budgets and fundraising goals, securing and coordinating vendors and volunteers, utilizing event software for participant management and financial tracking, and preparing corporate giving and event collateral. The role also demands ongoing relationship management with clients and contributors, data entry and report preparation, and assisting leadership with donor acknowledgements.
This position is ideal for candidates who are passionate about the nonprofit sector and possess strong organizational skills, project management experience, and a capability to engage and inspire diverse groups of people in support of a noble cause. The External Recruiter role at GSEWNI not only offers a fulfilling career with a meaningful mission but also the chance to be a key player in a renowned organization that champions the leadership and development of girls throughout Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho.
