Job Description
Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho (GSEWNI) is a renowned non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young girls and fostering leadership development. Serving an expansive area consisting of 19 counties in central and eastern Washington and 10 counties in northern Idaho, GSEWNI covers a vast territory of 67,000 square miles. Headquartered in Spokane, Washington, this organization is committed to supporting approximately 4,000 girls from kindergarten through 12th grade with the guidance and assistance of around 2,000 committed adult volunteers. As the preeminent leadership development organization for girls and a leading authority on girls' healthy development, GSEWNI endeavors to transform the leadership landscape for girls as they move into the future.
The role of External Recruiter at GSEWNI is a full-time position located in either Yakima, TriCities, or Spokane. Offering a competitive hourly wage of $24.00 to $26.00 alongside full benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and paid time off, this position is ideal for an energetic and committed individual passionate about nonprofit work and community engagement. This External Recruiter will play a pivotal role in planning and executing special events that are critical to the organization's fundraising and program outreach efforts. The recruiter will be responsible for managing two signature fundraising events—a gala and a unique weekend-long "glamping" event—as well as a day-long mini convention for girls. There is also an expectation for continued development of additional programming and fundraising events in alignment with the organization's strategic goals.
This position is integral to managing event logistics from initial planning through successful execution, including budget oversight to meet fundraising targets. The recruiter will secure and manage vendors and volunteers, maintain event software ensuring smooth transactions and proper recognition, and work closely with the Marketing Director to develop collateral materials such as invitations, sponsor acknowledgments, and signage. The role demands excellent customer service skills to maintain timely communication with all event participants. In addition, the External Recruiter will assist leadership by preparing reports, managing constituent records, and supporting philanthropic initiatives to ensure the ongoing success of the Council’s fundraising endeavors. This demanding yet rewarding role requires a blend of project management skills, passion for nonprofit missions, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders including volunteers, girls, donors, and the broader community. GSEWNI offers a meaningful work environment where the mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character aligns with career growth and community impact opportunities.
