Located in the heart of New York City, this hostel offers a unique hospitality experience that combines comfort with community engagement, making it a popular choice for travelers ranging from solo adventurers to groups. Recognized for its vibrant atmosphere and excellent service, HI New York City stands out as a dynamic hub where travelers and locals can connect through a variety of events, social spaces, and cultural programming.
Joining HI New York City means becoming part of a team dedicated to fostering global understanding through accessible travel. The hostel offers a robust benefits package and a supportive work environment, aimed at creating a rewarding career in hospitality management. As a full-time, benefit-eligible position with pay ranging from $27 to $33 per hour, this role offers stability and growth opportunities within an organization that values diversity, inclusion, and social impact.
The Events and Guest Experience Manager role is a key leadership position focused on creating memorable and engaging experiences for guests and the community. This hands-on manager oversees both the bar program and five on-site event spaces, managing everything from day-to-day operations to strategic event programming. The role requires balancing operational excellence with creative innovation to drive revenue growth and enhance guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include staffing leadership, inventory and vendor management, event booking and coordination, marketing support, and financial oversight.
This position is ideal for someone with bar leadership experience who thrives in a fast-paced, social environment and enjoys blending operational duties with event and marketing creativity. The Events and Guest Experience Manager plays an essential role in shaping the atmosphere of the hostel by ensuring smooth bar service, coordinating diverse events from intimate gatherings to large groups of up to 150 guests, and developing partnerships with local businesses and external vendors.
Collaboration is central to the role, working closely with key departments like General Management, Sales, Housekeeping, and Engagement teams to deliver a cohesive and vibrant guest experience. The manager is also responsible for maintaining health and safety standards, cost control measures, and asset management for all furnishings and equipment related to the bar and event spaces. Beyond operations, this role drives community engagement through innovative programming that appeals to both travelers and locals, reinforcing HI New York City's reputation as a lively and welcoming destination in one of the world’s most exciting cities.
This position offers the unique opportunity to contribute to a social mission while advancing your career in hospitality management. If you are passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences, leading diverse teams, and driving business growth through creativity and operational expertise, HI New York City invites you to apply and join their dedicated team.
