Job Description

Manhatta is a renowned restaurant and full-service event space located sixty stories above Lower Manhattan, offering breathtaking views of New York City, its iconic bridges, and waterways. As part of Danny Meyer's prestigious Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG), Manhatta combines sky-high vistas with a deep commitment to down-to-earth hospitality. This unique establishment is dedicated to delivering seasonal, inventive cuisine paired with exceptional service, making it a premier destination for both dining and special events within the vibrant hospitality scene of New York City. USHG is celebrated for fostering a culture rooted in care, creativity, and continuous growth, and Manhatta reflects these values through its dedication to delivering memorable experiences for all its guests.

The role of Events Operations Manager at Manhatta is a hands-on, leadership position integral to the seamless execution of events from start to finish. The ideal candidate operates as a strategic partner and problem solver, ensuring that every event sold is delivered flawlessly in real time. This dynamic role requires a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to anticipate challenges and devise creative solutions on the fly. As a cross-functional connector, the Events Operations Manager collaborates closely with the Events, Beverage, Culinary, and Service teams to align sales, planning, and execution processes, balancing operational feasibility with exceptional guest experiences without compromising quality or consistency.

This position demands a highly organized, systems-driven professional who develops and maintains essential structures such as standard operating procedures (SOPs), tech sheets, and workflows that contribute to the scalability and consistency of the events program. Beyond operational responsibilities, the manager leads by example on the floor, coaching and supporting event staff while continuously elevating service standards through direct involvement. They take ownership not only of service delivery but also contribute significantly to planning accuracy, inventory management, logistics coordination, and post-event evaluations, fostering ongoing improvements with every execution.

Manhatta offers a full-time, salaried position with a competitive annual compensation range of $75,000 to $80,000, supplemented by performance-based bonus potential. The comprehensive benefits package reflects USHG's commitment to employee wellbeing, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, robust paid time off policies, and parental leave. The role also provides opportunities for professional growth within a respected hospitality group known for cultivating talent and encouraging collaboration. Additionally, employees enjoy numerous perks such as dining credits and discounts across the USHG family of restaurants, commuter benefits, and access to wellness and employee assistance programs.

Working at Manhatta means embracing the culture of Enlightened Hospitality that guides every aspect of the business. Team members are expected to embody USHG's six core behaviors: striving to win with humility and confidence, building connections, prioritizing excellence, learning from mistakes, acting generously, and being responsible stewards of their impact. These values foster a supportive and inclusive work environment where employees can thrive, innovate, and contribute to exceptional guest experiences. The Events Operations Manager role is a critical leadership position that shapes the future of Manhatta's distinguished events program, ensuring every occasion is executed with professionalism, passion, and precision.
