The Events Marketing Specialist plays a crucial role in Astound's marketing and brand awareness strategies by managing the end-to-end planning, negotiation, and execution of major sponsorships and events. This is a full-time role based in Texas with a base salary starting at $55,000 annually, plus opportunities for bonuses and benefits. The specialist primarily focuses on large-scale events involving both for-profit and non-profit organizations within Astound's footprint. The ideal candidate is responsible for creating best-in-class event experiences that showcase Astound's array of products and services, while building goodwill and brand visibility.

In this role, the Events Marketing Specialist negotiates sponsorship agreements, coordinates logistics with vendors and brand ambassadors, and ensures flawless execution from start to finish. Their duties include investigating and recommending new event opportunities, managing budgets and invoicing, and collaborating cross-functionally with market leaders involved in sales, community relations, and small/medium business initiatives. The specialist also handles media promotions, social outreach campaigns, and inventory management of event materials such as signage, banners, and booths. Scheduling flexibility is important, as the role requires up to 40 percent travel and weekend availability. The position demands strong organizational and interpersonal skills, proficient use of tools like MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and experience with budget management. Prior experience in the cable, telecom, or mobile industry is preferred.

Job Duties

  • Negotiate, plan, and execute sponsorship and branding events within the Astound footprint
  • investigate, prepare documentation, and recommend new events and sponsorships
  • coordinate with market leaders regarding sales, community, and small/medium business events
  • respond to unsolicited event and sponsorship requests
  • procure and manage vendors and brand ambassadors
  • coordinate run-of-show for all planned events
  • organize and deliver event materials including signage, banners, and booths
  • assist with TV, radio, and digital promotional copy
  • coordinate reciprocal media opportunities
  • lead social outreach and promotional campaigns
  • track budgets, process invoices, and prepare reports
  • manage programmer relationships for new event opportunities
  • participate in meetings and cross-channel marketing initiatives
  • travel up to 40% as required
  • weekend availability required
