As part of The Studer Family of Companies, the Monarchs operate various event spaces within the stadium, offering versatile venues for public and private gatherings, corporate functions, and community events. The role of the Events Representative at the Kansas City Monarchs centers on driving revenue through the effective promotion and management of all event spaces under their control. This full-time, nonexempt position includes responsibilities for attracting new clients, developing lasting partnerships with existing customers, and organizing public events that align with the Monarchs’ mission of community improvement. The position requires working closely with multiple internal teams including marketing, venue managers, and event coordinators to ensure seamless event delivery and customer satisfaction.

The Events Representative will act as the primary liaison between clients and venue staff, coordinating logistics and overseeing event planning procedures to fulfill client expectations effectively. A key aspect of the role involves identifying and securing new business opportunities by presenting tailored event solutions and negotiating contracts and venue fees. This professional also contributes creatively by developing new event concepts aimed at boosting engagement and attendance through diverse promotional tactics including social media and direct outreach.

This position not only emphasizes sales and customer relationship management but also involves leadership, including hiring, training, and guiding venue managers and event staff. The Events Representative is expected to establish consistent work processes and maintain systems that support high standards across all venues. They must be detail-oriented, organized, and adept at budget management and event performance analytics to measure and report success accurately.

Additionally, the candidate must possess a strong understanding of the food and restaurant industries as they relate to event planning, demonstrating proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent communication and negotiation skills. The role requires physical activity including standing, walking, and lifting items up to 30 pounds regularly. As this position involves variable hours, including evenings and weekends, flexibility and a team-oriented mindset are essential.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Three to five years of related experience in sales, marketing, or event management
  • Proven sales track record and marketing experience

Job Duties

  • Responsible for generating revenue through outside sales for all of KC Monarchs event spaces
  • Work with the internal team, marketing staff, and other managers to increase sales opportunities and thereby maximize revenue for their organization
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers
  • Promote the company's products/services addressing or predicting clients' objectives
  • Find potential new customers, present to them, ultimately convert them into clients, and continue to grow business
  • Manage existing clients and ensure their event needs are satisfied by working with the onsite event coordinators
  • Call on clients, often being required to make presentations on solutions and services that meet or predict their clients' future needs
  • Develop our event portfolio for each venue
  • Hire, train, educate, and manage staff on proper event procedures and coordination activities
  • Create new ideas for events
  • Negotiate and create sales presentations
  • Responsible for all contracts
  • Book venues and negotiate fees
  • Drive attendance to the event through intercompany promotional tactics
  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs
  • Promote the event using flyers, cold calling, and social media as examples of ways to spark attention
  • Calculate budgets and adjust when necessary
  • Analyze event performance and prepare metrics presentation
  • Establish work procedures and processes that support the company and departmental standards, procedures and strategic directives
  • Use appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding department or employee concerns
  • Perform all other duties as requested or directed
