The Events Manager role at Ryman Hospitality Properties is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of assigned events within the companys venues. This includes managing all food and beverage activities and services to guarantee flawless execution for all types of functions, from private gatherings to special events. Reporting directly to the Venue Operations Leadership, the Events Manager works closely with sales managers and operations teams to conceptualize, plan, and execute events that meet client expectations and the companys standards.
The position involves serving as the primary liaison between the company and prospective clients, event planners, and vendors. This includes responsibilities such as checking venue availability, conducting site visits, creating budget estimates, and explaining venue policies and best practices. Throughout the event lifecycle, the Events Manager ensures excellent customer service by maintaining constant communication with clients and coordinating closely with internal teams and external vendors. They also take charge of formulating detailed master project plans, timelines, spatial layouts, and budgets, keeping clients informed of any changes or deviations.
Key responsibilities include reviewing banquet event orders (BEOs), coordinating with kitchen and culinary teams on menu selections and service details, designing buffet and table layouts, and leading event setup to ensure cleanliness and safety. The Events Manager actively supervises event staffing, conducts pre- and post-shift meetings, and manages the onsite service to meet all service standards. Additionally, they play a significant role in maximizing venue utilization, revenue, and profit by strategically managing the event calendar alongside sales and venue leadership.
This role requires a proactive approach in inventory control, supply management, and purchasing decor and event essentials. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, hotel and restaurant management, hospitality business administration or related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years experience in food and beverage or event planning and production
- State Alcohol Education Card required upon hire
- Certified Food Safety Manager certification required within 90 days of hire
- Completion of Crowd Management training upon hire
- Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to motivate and lead employees to deliver top-notch service
Job Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years experience in food and beverage or event planning and production
- Experience with restaurant management principles and equipment helpful
- Proficient in using event calendar or tracking systems such as Tripleseat Guest and Event Management preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with differing deadlines
- High attention to detail and superior organizational skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire staff to deliver exceptional service
Job Duties
- Oversee life cycle of assigned events including managing food and beverage activities
