The position available is for an Event Manager at the Autograph Collection location in Dearborn, Michigan. This full-time role falls under the management category and offers an annual salary range of $53,600 to $62,000, with eligibility for bonuses. The Event Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of property events, including pre-event preparation, coordination during the event, and post-event follow-up. This role requires ensuring seamless event logistics and operations, maintaining high standards of customer service, and acting as the liaison between sales, property departments, and customers.

Specifically, the Event Manager handles events of average complexity and is tasked with ensuring smooth transitions from sales to service and back to sales. They play a vital role in recognizing opportunities to maximize revenue through up-selling and offering enhancements to create outstanding event experiences. From managing group room blocks and meeting space for medium to large groups to conducting formal pre- and post-event meetings, this role demands strong organizational and leadership skills.

The Event Manager also supports the sales and marketing functions by assisting in revenue forecasting and up-selling products and services throughout the event process. They are expected to provide exceptional customer service, empowering employees to deliver the same, and take initiative in resolving guest problems and complaints. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in event management or related area
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in related field
  • At least 1 year experience in event management

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 1 to 2 years of event management experience
  • OR 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with at least 1 year of event management experience

Job Duties

  • Prepare event documentation and coordinate with sales and property departments to ensure high-level service
  • Manage event logistics and operations following established procedures
  • Greet customers during events and transition details to Event Operations team
  • Ensure billing accuracy and conduct bill reviews with clients
  • Manage group room blocks and meeting spaces for assigned groups
  • Identify and solve operational challenges with property staff and customers
  • Act as liaison between sales and customers throughout event phases
  • Participate in customer site inspections and assist with sales as needed
  • Deliver excellent customer service and empower employees to do the same
  • Communicate event details to customers and property operations
  • Oversee customer experiences from file turnover to post-event phase
  • Follow up with customers post-event and handle guest complaints
  • Lead formal pre- and post-event meetings for assigned groups
  • Assist in sales process and revenue forecasting
  • Up-sell products and services during event process
  • Review guest satisfaction and provide employee feedback
  • Implement corrective action plans and improve service performance
  • Maintain presence and solve problems during event process

  • Solicit feedback to enhance Event Planner experience
