Job Description
Bloomingdale's is a premier luxury department store that blends fashion, innovation, and customer-centric services to create an unparalleled retail experience. Known for its inclusive culture and commitment to diversity of background, thought, and opinion, Bloomingdale's is more than just a shopping destination—it's an inspired community where creativity and style flourish. The company strives to make every interaction meaningful, ensuring that it stands out as no other store in the world. With multiple platforms including Bloomingdales.com and Bloomie's, the newest small store concept, Bloomingdale's continues to evolve, aiming to offer personalized and memorable shopping and dining experiences for customers across the globe.
The role of Events Manager at Bloomingdale's is a dynamic and critical position within the food and beverage department. The primary responsibility is to build and maintain strong client relationships for various event experiences hosted in the store's prestigious food and beverage environments. This role demands a hands-on manager who will oversee all aspects of event booking, outreach, planning, coordination, and execution to ensure flawless delivery and client satisfaction. The Events Manager works closely not only with clients but also collaborates with restaurant teams, marketing, and events teams to generate new business opportunities and secure repeat bookings from satisfied customers.
Key responsibilities include oversight of restaurant and personal shopping host employees, encompassing hiring, scheduling, training, performance management, and ensuring compliance with attendance policies. The successful candidate will bring 3-5 years of full-service restaurant management experience and possess the ability to adapt quickly to fast-changing scenarios. This individual needs to be highly organized and skilled at multitasking, maintaining event budgets, and ensuring customer service standards meet Bloomingdale's reputation for excellence.
In addition to managing event inquiries and contracts, the Events Manager will leverage software tools such as TripleSeat to maintain event data and collaborate with beverage teams to keep menus up to date. Follow-up with clients for feedback and business development are crucial components to sustain long-term relationships and maximize revenue potential. The position also supports restaurant managers with daily operations like purchasing, invoicing, and vendor payments, making it a comprehensive leadership role within the restaurant department.
Overall, the Events Manager will be instrumental in elevating the luxury service experience for Bloomingdale's personal shopping clients by creating and implementing a new personal training food and beverage program. This initiative is designed to provide complimentary luxury services that align with the brand's high standards. This role offers an opportunity to be part of a passionate, driven, and entrepreneurial team that values collaboration and innovation. As part of Macy's, Inc., a leading multi-brand retail organization including Bloomingdale's, Macy's, and Blue Mercury, this position offers excellent career growth and benefits including performance-based bonuses, 401k, comprehensive insurance coverage, and paid time off. Bloomingdale's fosters an environment where every colleague is empowered to voice their ideas and impact the customer experience positively.
