Known for its community-focused approach, Fleet Feet frequently hosts expos, pop-up shops, and running events aimed at fostering a strong connection between runners and their local communities. With a commitment to exceptional customer service and brand integrity, Fleet Feet strives to create memorable experiences that inspire and motivate individuals to achieve their fitness goals. The company prides itself on building trust with its customers, partners, and staff through professionalism and attention to detail.
The Events Manager at Fleet Feet plays a pivotal role in bringing the company's community-focused expos and pop-up shops to life. This full-time position involves overseeing the entire scope of event planning and execution, ensuring that every detail aligns with Fleet Feet's high standards for quality and safety. The role requires a combination of strategic planning, logistical coordination, and team leadership, aimed at delivering seamless and impactful events that resonate with participants and stakeholders alike.
As the Events Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of event logistics, from pre-race planning through execution. This includes overseeing course setup, arranging start and finish lines, coordinating waste management and medical services, and managing online registration platforms. Collaboration is essential in this role, involving work with local officials, sponsors, law enforcement, health departments, entertainment teams, timing partners, race crews, and subcontractors. You will be expected to adhere strictly to Fleet Feet Brand Standards and Guidelines, ensuring consistency and quality across all events.
Volunteer coordination is another key component of the role. The Events Manager will recruit, assign, and manage volunteers for various event roles, fostering a supportive and efficient team environment. You will also coordinate event supplies and equipment, post-run meals, awards, participant shirts, and finisher medals, contributing to a positive and rewarding experience for all attendees.
Safety is a top priority in every event managed by Fleet Feet. The Events Manager is tasked with ensuring the safety of participants, volunteers, and staff throughout the event lifecycle. This includes planning for emergency response and liaising with relevant authorities to maintain a secure environment.
Fleet Feet seeks an individual with 2-3 years of event management experience who can work independently with minimal supervision. Outstanding organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills are essential, as are excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required. The ideal candidate will be capable of balancing multiple projects, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines effectively. Flexibility and adaptability to vary work schedules, including evenings and weekends, are necessary for success in this role.
In summary, the Events Manager at Fleet Feet is a dynamic and integral position that demands a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a passion for event management and community engagement. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by creating exceptional event experiences that uphold Fleet Feet’s brand values and foster a vibrant running community.
